This temple is devoted to lord Shiva, In this temple Shiva is worshipped in his form of Mritunjay .It is believed that by worshipping Shiva one can win over his death. Many people from all over the world come here for performing Mahamritunjay-path There is a well into this temple, it is believed that Dhanvantari, the father of Ayurvedic medical-system pour all his medicines(jari-booty) in this well,So its water is sacred and eliminate several diseases.

Temple is open from 4.00am to 12.00midnight.People who are suffering with fatal planetary combinations in their horoscope indicating untimely death, perform Maha Mritunjay Jaap at this place and many devotees have succeeded in their endeavours. Local Devotees call this temple as Mritunjay Mahadev and the deity is quite famous by that name. The shivling in this temple is capable of keeping untimely death away from devotees.
