Situated At Hindu University road,the temple was built in the 18th century by queen of Bengal Rani Bhawani and Loasts of a Shikhar in North Indian Style. Although it is one of the best-known temple. There is nice stonework done of the temple , it is the nice example of NAGRA Shilp. Godess DURGA is believed as the symbol of Strength and Power which govern the entire world. There is a pond adjacent to the temple called “Durgakund”.

This temple is also known as the “Monkey Temple” because of the presence of large number of monkeys. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga. According to legends, the present statue of Goddess Durga was not made by man but appeared on its own in the temple. In Hinduism, Durga is represented as the embodiment of shakti or female power, clad in red, riding a tiger and fully armed with Shiva’s trident, Vishnu’s discuss and a sword. Non-Hindus can enter the courtyard of the Durga temple but not the inner sanctum. Thousands of Hindu devotees visit the Durga temple during Navratri and other auspicious occasions.
